Opening Our Doors
to the Next Generation of Lean Thinkers

Students from the Regional School Complex No. 1 in Rumia visited our factory in Poland as part of the Young Lean Leader programme, taking their first steps into the world of Lean thinking.
During the visit, they explored our production processes and began developing ideas for their upcoming project.

Our factory in Poland welcomed students from the Regional School Complex No. 1 in Rumia as part of the Young Lean Leader programme. The visit marked the starting point of a project they will be developing over the coming months.

The day began with a health and safety introduction from Katarzyna Szałkowska, ensuring that all participants understood the key principles we follow to maintain a safe and comfortable working environment. This was followed by a guided tour of the production facility, giving the students a first-hand look at how our pumps are manufactured and the materials used in the process.

During the visit, students had the opportunity to learn about key organisational processes. Our HR representative, Łukasz Kłos, presented the onboarding journey at Tapflo, explaining how new employees gradually build product knowledge and develop their technical skills through internal training programmes such as Tapflo Academy.

From a quality perspective, Łukasz Grzeszkiewicz introduced the students to Lean principles in practice, demonstrating how we identify improvement opportunities, standardise effective solutions, and create platforms for sharing ideas across the organisation. Lean is an approach to managing processes that focuses on maximising value for the customer while eliminating waste, through continuous improvement and active involvement of employees.

What stood out throughout the visit was the students’ curiosity and engagement. They actively asked questions, took notes, and began formulating their first ideas for improvement.

We are proud to support initiatives such as the Young Lean Leader programme, which connects education with real industrial environments and helps young people develop practical skills and problem-solving mindsets.

We are already looking forward to welcoming the students again during the next stages of their project.
