The Cipriani Harrison hygienic double-seat mixproof valve prevents the mixing of two incompatible media. It allows the simultaneous flow of product and cleaning agents without the risk of cross-contamination. This valve ensures process integrity, optimal hygiene and increased operational efficiency.

The valve has two spindles and two seats, ensuring complete separation of the two products. The pop-up function and separate rinsing of the leak chamber ensure complete and reliable cleaning. With its one-piece, self-draining body and maintenance-free, sealed actuator, it is a robust, hygienic and easy-to-maintain solution for modern process systems. Operating principle

The Tapflo hygienic mix-proof valve enables the simultaneous flow of two liquids thanks to its double-seat design, which creates a chamber that isolates the liquids passing through the two bodies. In the event of a seal failure in either seat, the liquid flows to the leak detection connection, directing the medium to the lower part of the valve, preventing the flows from mixing. In the event of a sudden pressure increase, the seat is raised and allows the fluid to flow through the lower opening without interfering with the operation of the upper seat, thus preventing the two media from mixing. The valve is equipped with a chamber cleaning function, whereby the chamber between the two seats can be cleaned independently by activating the appropriate seat.

  • The 900 series valves separate two flow channels with two balanced and independently operating poppet valves with an intermediate leak chamber.
  • The valve opens from top to bottom thanks to its low-leakage design.
  • A pneumatic actuator opens the valve via an air connection. Spring force resets the valve to the ‘closed’ position.
  • The standard 900 series valve is equipped with a liftable seat actuator and a control unit.
  • Seat cleaning is controlled by pneumatic connections that can lift the valve plugs.
  • Optionally, the closed and open positions of the 900 series valves can be detected by proximity switches.

Design and easy maintenance

The self-draining spherical body is made of forged stainless steel with increased acid resistance. The spherical shape of the valve body ensures minimal flow resistance, which in turn offers minimal pressure drop.

The one-piece compact design of the valve body saves space during installation. Cipriani Harrison double-seat mixproof valves are easy to maintain – the valve body and yoke are connected by a hygienic clamp band, which allows for easy and quick installation and removal of the valve. All seats and seals are made of FDA-approved materials. Balanced valve stems protect the valves against hydraulic shocks.
