An internationally operating German condiment and sauce manufacturer, a long-time customer of ours, having used a reliable Tapflo T425 diaphragm pump for many years. After a long period of use, they needed an alternative pumping solution. It is worth noting that the well-deserved T425 continues to work reliably and is not about to be replaced! Our customer was looking for another solution that would faithfully serve side-by-side with our T425.
Customer’s requirements
The German manufacturer was looking for an electric yet mobile solution for transporting marinades and sauces. These media were to be pumped at 200 l/min, having a density of 0.5 to 1.5 kg/l and a viscosity of up to 2000 mPa∙s. In addition, they were to reach temperatures of up to 90 °C, and the pump itself had to be able to withstand temperatures of up to 160 °C reached during system cleaning.
Our solution
We offered the LPX series lobe pump – an ideal choice due to the high viscosity of the medium and the proposed flow rate. At the same time, their design allows for hassle-free cleaning and on-site sterilization (CIP/SIP). Due to the customer’s mobility requirements, we offered the pump unit mounted on a trolley.
