Cipriani Harrison hygienic ball valves are designed for process piping systems for isolating or diverting liquids. They are a reliable solution for applications requiring the highest standards of hygiene.

Thanks to their full bore design, they allow free flow of the medium, even with high viscosity, without the risk of blockages. Made of AISI 316L stainless steel, they are characterised by high corrosion resistance and ease of CIP/SIP cleaning.

Versions with pneumatic or manual actuators are available, as well as a wide range of connections: threaded, welded or clamps. The Tapflo hygienic ball valve is the ideal choice for process installations in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

Operating principle

A precision ball with a hole is located inside the valve body between two flanges and two PTFE seats. Rotating the valve core 90° using a handle or pneumatic actuator moves the balls, opening or closing the ball valve.

Cipriani Harrison ball valves are available with various manual handles and pneumatic actuators. The appropriate handle can be selected depending on the end application, both for opening and closing the valve and for equipping it with multi-position handles. Various types of pneumatic actuators are available for different media and pressures.

The Tapflo hygienic ball valve in this series is made of forged material. It has a three-piece design consisting of a body and two flanges. The ball is precisely positioned inside the body, which can be filled with space or equipped with blow-through holes.

Ball valves with a precise design tailored to their application, making them a very economical choice.

Made of high-quality stainless steel. The valve body and flanges are manufactured using lost wax casting, and the ball is made of high-quality stainless steel. The Tapflo sanitary ball valve is available in various standards, with different types of connections and operating methods, i.e. manual or pneumatic.

Construction

The valve consists of a body, two flanges, PTFE seats, EPDM O-rings, a ball, a core and a handle, and an actuator. All seats and seals are made of FDA-approved materials.

  • The valve body, flanges and ball are made of forged 316L and 304L stainless steel, ensuring a non-porous, smooth and dimensionally stable construction.
  • The valve is designed to maintain full flow with minimal pressure drop and can be completely drained. The precision-machined core with a bottom inlet and PTFE thrust washer ensures smooth rotation at various temperatures and pressures.
  • Drainage holes for SIP (sterilisation in place) or CIP (cleaning in place) applications are located in the valve body.

  • Various sealing options are available, tailored to different thermal conditions and chemical resistance, which increases the service life of the seals.
  • We also offer a special PTFE seal, tailored to more aggressive media.

Flush connection

Cipriani Harrison ball valves are available with a flush connection:

  • used to clean the space between the ball and the ball valve body,
  • during the cleaning cycle, the cleaning fluid flows through the connection and cleans the space.

Chamber filling

  • used in cases where the user does not intend to clean the chamber separately using flushing connections,
  • the chamber can be partially or completely filled with chamber filler,
  • the chamber filler is made of food-grade PTFE, which ensures that no product residues are trapped inside the ball valve.
