Operating principle

The hygienic mixproof butterfly valve is equipped with two plugs that separate incompatible media using two separate seals. It has a separate vent chamber with a spring-loaded valve.

When the valve is closed, i.e. the two media are separated, the vent valve remains open by means of a link.

In the event of a leak, the medium escapes from the vent chamber. When the valve is opened and the two media are allowed to mix or flow to the opposite connection, the vent chamber valve remains closed.

Construction

Butterfly valve design CHV

Cipriani Harrison hygienic butterfly valves are manufactured using a forging process.

  • The disc of Tapflo hygienic butterfly valves is manufactured by forging, which ensures excellent grain structure.
  • The valves are machined and polished to a roughness of Ra<0.8 µm. This complements the robust and more reliable design.

Seals:

  • Various sealing options are available, tailored to different thermal conditions and chemical resistance, which increases the service life of the seals.
  • We also offer a special PTFE seal, tailored to more aggressive media.

Handles for butterfly valves CHV

Available handles:

Cipriani Harrison hygienic butterfly valves are available with various handle options, depending on customer needs and application requirements.
