CDR

The history of CDR dates back to the pre-World War II era. In the early 1950s, Ferdinando Abordi acquired “ARI Pompe” – a family business whose production was based on cast iron pumps for domestic, agricultural and industrial use. In the mid-1960s, the evolving market demanded a new and sophisticated product, and CDR transformed to fulfill special customer orders. The production of stainless steel and special alloy pumps was started. Subsequently, the production of horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps, compliant with DIN 24256 standards for the chemical industry, was implemented.

In the early 70s, CDR decided to expand its production to include plastic pumps. At the end of 1977, Maurizio Abordi, son of Ferdinando Abordi, took over the management of the company, implementing new products and solutions, focusing in particular on the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. In 1978, the first metal and plastic magnetic drive pumps were introduced. This was a milestone for the development of the entire company, which made the company focus even more on its own development.

In 1999, the company was awarded ISO 9001 certification.

That was just the beginning of CDR’s activities. In 2002, the first pump with a plastic lining and the ETN-L pump made of PP and ETFE, which was used for unloading tanks with toxic and highly corrosive liquids, were launched on the market. Two years later, the ETS series pumps made of AISI 316L stainless steel casting were created, which were the best example of presenting the right price-quality ratio. In 2004, this solution was further improved by introducing models made of durable PFA polymer to the market.

The continuous development of the CDR enterprise was possible thanks to the systematic commitment of resources and funds to the improvement of products. The reliability of the designed systems used in many applications, as well as the appropriate ratio of presented quality to price, meant that the company recorded remarkable growth.
CDR – a brand focused on customer satisfaction
After many years of methodical expansion in the Italian market, CDR has begun close collaboration with distributors abroad.

Currently, the continuous development of CDR is possible thanks to a solid 50 years of experience, which helps to meet the challenges of a constantly changing market every day. The philosophy of CDR is simple – never rest on your laurels. A constant pursuit of improvement and the introduction of new, reliable technological solutions to its offer, while not forgetting the excellent customer service that has allowed CDR to gain a loyal and constantly growing clientele. The key to its success is close cooperation with foreign distributors and listening to the needs of customers in order to provide them with products that meet all their expectations.

In 2017, CDR completed an investment reflecting the company’s current policy – in the industrial district of Bollate, among streets dedicated to famous Italian painters, a new headquarters was built. It is intended to represent the path taken during the last 50 years of history and gives rise to new ideas. The spaces and layouts of the building are designed to streamline production flow and create an exciting place for employees and visiting clients. It is the responsibility of every CDR employee to focus on the needs and expectations of the consumer, so that they are treated with the highest standards.
