Electrically operated diaphragm pumps

Due to the changing mindset about our impact on the environment, we proudly present EODD – Electric Operated Diaphragm pumps. The product follows the modern approach, yet it is still based on the original diaphragm pump technology that has proven to be very effective. We consulted with our customers who show a demand for the features and benefits of a traditional diaphragm pump, but with the added benefit of lower operating costs. The pump is powered by a high efficiency electric drive (IE3 class) and there is no chance of hydraulic fluid leakage as the pump simply doesn’t need it.

Pulsation dampeners

The active pulsation dampener is the most efficient way to remove pressure variations on the discharge of the pump. The Tapflo pulsation dampener works actively with compressed air and a diaphragm, automatically setting the correct pressure to minimize the pulsations.

Tapflo’s active pulsation dampener DT is the most effective way to eliminate pressure fluctuations at the pump outlet. It works actively with compressed air and a diaphragm, automatically adjusting to the current pressure to minimize pulsation.

Hose pumps

A hose pump is a type of positive displacement pump that can be used to pump many different liquids. Tapflo industrial peristaltic pumps use the principle of peristalsis, whereby deformation and compression of a soft elastomeric hose allows liquid to pass through the device. Pumps of this type are the best solution for delicate, corrosive, abrasive or dry media, also with solids content. The special design, in which only the hose is in contact with the pumped product, reduces operating costs by reducing the wear of internal components and allows for operation in very demanding conditions.

The pumps we offer are based on the same simple principle of operation, but a wide selection of models allows for precise matching of the offer to a specific application. These include both high-pressure and low-pressure pumps for flows ranging from 200l/h to 65 m3/h.

CDR

The history of CDR dates back to the pre-World War II era. In the early 1950s, Ferdinando Abordi acquired “ARI Pompe” – a family business whose production was based on cast iron pumps for domestic, agricultural and industrial use. In the mid-1960s, the evolving market demanded a new and sophisticated product, and CDR transformed to fulfill special customer orders. The production of stainless steel and special alloy pumps was started. Subsequently, the production of horizontal and vertical centrifugal pumps, compliant with DIN 24256 standards for the chemical industry, was implemented.

In the early 70s, CDR decided to expand its production to include plastic pumps. At the end of 1977, Maurizio Abordi, son of Ferdinando Abordi, took over the management of the company, implementing new products and solutions, focusing in particular on the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. In 1978, the first metal and plastic magnetic drive pumps were introduced. This was a milestone for the development of the entire company, which made the company focus even more on its own development.

In 1999, the company was awarded ISO 9001 certification.

That was just the beginning of CDR’s activities. In 2002, the first pump with a plastic lining and the ETN-L pump made of PP and ETFE, which was used for unloading tanks with toxic and highly corrosive liquids, were launched on the market. Two years later, the ETS series pumps made of AISI 316L stainless steel casting were created, which were the best example of presenting the right price-quality ratio. In 2004, this solution was further improved by introducing models made of durable PFA polymer to the market.

The continuous development of the CDR enterprise was possible thanks to the systematic commitment of resources and funds to the improvement of products. The reliability of the designed systems used in many applications, as well as the appropriate ratio of presented quality to price, meant that the company recorded remarkable growth.
CDR – a brand focused on customer satisfaction
After many years of methodical expansion in the Italian market, CDR has begun close collaboration with distributors abroad.

Currently, the continuous development of CDR is possible thanks to a solid 50 years of experience, which helps to meet the challenges of a constantly changing market every day. The philosophy of CDR is simple – never rest on your laurels. A constant pursuit of improvement and the introduction of new, reliable technological solutions to its offer, while not forgetting the excellent customer service that has allowed CDR to gain a loyal and constantly growing clientele. The key to its success is close cooperation with foreign distributors and listening to the needs of customers in order to provide them with products that meet all their expectations.

In 2017, CDR completed an investment reflecting the company’s current policy – in the industrial district of Bollate, among streets dedicated to famous Italian painters, a new headquarters was built. It is intended to represent the path taken during the last 50 years of history and gives rise to new ideas. The spaces and layouts of the building are designed to streamline production flow and create an exciting place for employees and visiting clients. It is the responsibility of every CDR employee to focus on the needs and expectations of the consumer, so that they are treated with the highest standards.

SLES mixing and dilution unit

SLES* is an organic chemical compound with ideal washing and foaming properties. For this reason, it is commonly used in the production of detergents, soaps, shampoos, and household chemicals. SLES is usually supplied to manufacturers of the above liquids in a 70% concentration, and due to its physical properties, such a concentrated solution is difficult to process and must be diluted below 27% before using it in the production line. Our system allows for continuous dilution with maximum efficiency and safety, reducing costs for the company in the long run.

In-line blending system

Achieving precise mixing of ingredients to obtain the desired final product, while maintaining strict proportions, accuracy, and order, presents a significant challenge for industrial manufacturers. The mixer was created precisely for this application. The flow mixer is based on a system for diluting concentrated ingredients, such as SLES. However, it has been designed in a modular way. Thanks to this, we can easily configure the system to actual production needs. The final product ingredients can be drawn from various types of tanks.

Responding to the individual needs of users, Tapflo offers the supply of compact, automated technological systems on a “turnkey” basis. Every demand for a custom pumping system is an opportunity for us to create a unique, tailor-made SKID system. Thanks to extensive design and implementation capabilities, we provide solutions created with specific functionality in mind. We provide almost unlimited possibilities for the development of pumping units, both in terms of mechanics and automation. We minimize user involvement in project management processes.

Integrated solutions

Tapflo offers custom-designed solutions tailored to unique needs within industrial manufacturing processes.

Combining various flow components into one comprehensive unit allows us to meet individual customer needs related to: required equipment and functionality, available space, connection flange locations, mobility.

Tank units

Tapflo presents a series of chemical unloading systems dedicated to every industry where liquids are to be stored, transported and dosed. Our solution based on the use of a diaphragm pump is suitable for working with viscous, chemically aggressive and particle-containing liquids. Several tank sizes can be combined with pumps of different designs. Additional options allow you to customize the system to your own needs. In this way, we have created the simplest and most versatile pumping solutions on the market.

Electronic batch controller

Diaphragm pump dosing has never been so easy and precise. The Electronic Dosing System is a control system designed for pump applications. Combined with a Tapflo diaphragm pump, it allows you to dose almost any liquid. By counting and summing pump strokes, we achieve doses with an accuracy of up to 60 ml (for a pump size TR20*).

Safety systems

The use of safety systems ensures not only efficient but also safe operation of diaphragm, lobe, gear, screw, and centrifugal pumps. Safety systems detect hazardous situations and react immediately, for example, by automatically shutting down the device. Tapflo’s pump protection systems rely on appropriate sensors. These include media presence sensors such as optical indicators and tuning fork or capacitive sensors designed to detect the presence or control the level of media in tanks or pipelines.

Diaphragm Rupture Signaling
We offer solutions such as diaphragm rupture signaling. It works by stopping the pump by closing the valve and cutting off the supply of compressed air. This is particularly important in the event of a diaphragm rupture, which could cause a leak of a medium harmful to humans or the environment.
Dry Run Protection
Safety systems also protect pumps from dry running, which could significantly shorten diaphragm life and increase compressed air consumption. The devices monitor the pressure level at the pump’s discharge and, if they detect too high an increase, stop the pump. Using this solution also increases the operational safety of the installation.
Other Safety Systems
Tapflo’s pump protection systems rely on appropriate sensors. These include media presence sensors such as optical indicators and tuning fork or capacitive sensors designed to detect the presence or control the level of media in tanks or pipelines. They also include flow indicators – both vane and calorimetric – which protect pumps from dry running by stopping their operation if no media flow is detected. Pressure switches signaling pressure exceeding limits, as well as transducers converting pressure values into electrical signals, are also reliable solutions.

By using the presented safety systems, you can be sure that the operation of the pumps will be not only efficient but also safe. This is particularly important in explosion hazard zones or in harsh working conditions (e.g., when pumps are exposed to dust or adverse weather conditions). Safety systems will also extend the life of the diaphragms and allow for monitoring of the current pressure in the installation.

Insulating covers

Tapflo introduces a series of hygienic covers, designed for diaphragm pump users. The stainless steel housing is durable and tight, while effectively isolating the pump from the environment. Filling with a dedicated insulation mat makes the hygienic covers an ideal solution for acoustically or thermally isolating the pump. Tapflo industrial covers combine a user-friendly solution with high-quality materials. Durably made, they will serve for years in almost any application.
