Vertical centrifugal pumps designed for pumping or circulating media in industrial applications. These are single-stage pumps designed with a housing submerged directly in the liquid, driven by an electric motor and equipped with an open impeller providing good solids handling capabilities. CTV centrifugal pumps are available in plastic (PP or PVDF) or AISI 316L stainless steel.

Vertical centrifugal pumps CTV do not have a mechanical seal, which facilitates service. The vertical design and tank mounting protects the motor from flooding with the pumped liquid, and the column is submerged in the liquid to a depth of up to 425 mm (longer versions on request). CTV pumps allow pumping of contaminated liquids, they can be used, among others, in the chemical industry, wastewater treatment plants, and water treatment.

Technical data
Pump capacity: 34 m3/h (560 l/min)
Max. head: 20 meters
Max size of solids:
6 mm
Temperature: 100 °C
Casing materials: plastic version: PP or PVDF
stainless steel version: stainless steel AISI 316L
Impeller materials: plastic version: PP or PVDF
stainless steel version: stainless steel AISI 316L
O-rings: EPDM, FKM or FEP
Electric motor: 3-phase, 2-pole (~2900 rpm), 380-420 VAC, 50 Hz, IP 55
Basic differences in material designs:
PP PP (polypropylene) is resistant to most chemical media up to 70 °C. Ideally suited for pickling baths or surface degreasing.
PVDF PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) has excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance. Ideal for hot liquids, up to 100 °C – e.g., for hot hydrofluoric acid.
stainless steel AISI 316L Acid-proof steel AISI 316L is ideal for high temperatures, up to 100 °C and special applications, such as pumping sodium hydroxide. All metal parts are made of corrosion-resistant AISI 316L steel. For special applications (e.g., chromium-nickel plating), electropolished steel models are available.

Typical applications
Industry Application example
Chemical Chemicals, solvents.
Electroplating Medium circulation through a filter in electroplating baths.
Surface treatment Chemical reagents, suspensions, oils, greases, coolants, detergents. Dosing of acids and bases.
Wastewater treatment Emptying tanks.
Water treatment Dosing of acids and bases used for cleaning in nanofiltration processes, fluid transfer in water treatment plants.
Heat exchangers Liquid circulation in heat exchangers.
Construction - PP/PVDF
Construction of Tapflo CTV vertical centrifugal pumps made of plastics 1. IP 55 Motor
The IP 55 motor with a balanced, extended shaft guarantees long and reliable operation in demanding applications.
2. O-ring
Protects the motor from aggressive vapors.
3. Discharge pipe
A discharge pipe made of PP or PVDF is supplied with the pump.
4. Pump housing
Made of PP or PVDF with a rigid base for easy mounting inside or outside the tank.
5. Plastic sleeve
Made of PP or PVDF to avoid contact of metal parts with the pumped medium – this solution prevents corrosion.
6. Impeller with vanes
The impeller with high back vanes prevents liquid from entering the motor.
7. Housing sealing O-ring
O-ring made of EPDM, FKM or FEP with high chemical resistance.
8. Threaded connection
Pump housing with threaded connection for attaching a filter and/or suction pipe.
Construction - steel AISI 316L

8. Threaded Connection
Pump housing with threaded connection for attaching a filter and/or suction pipe.
Accessories and special versions

Suction extension (PP, PVDF, SS)

Optional solution when there is a need to empty a tank or well from a level lower than the pump’s submersion depth.
Extension pipe 500 mm and 1000 mm is available as standard.

Filter (PP, PVDF, SS)

We supply a suction-side filter if the liquid is dirty or contains solids.

Left-hand thread on the pump cover (PP, PVDF)

For the CTV centrifugal pump made of plastic, there is a possibility of making a left-hand thread on the pump cover. This thread can be distinguished from the standard one by a notch on the socket.
This way, unintentional loosening of the pump cover is avoided. This option is especially recommended when pumping viscous liquids.

Optional discharge connection (PP,PVDF, SS)

If required, the CTV centrifugal pump can be supplied with optional discharge connections.
ANSI and DIN standard flanges are available – loose or welded.
