Product features

Vertical immersed pumps according to ISO 5199 with shaft with intermediate bearings. The pump body is immersed in the pumped liquid, while the motor is mounted above the plate, which separates it from the pumped liquid. The discharge pipe is separated from the pump column, and lubrication of the bearings on the shaft is usually done using the same pumped liquid or using clean external grease (in the case of aggressive liquids, it is possible to use flushing from an external circuit with clean liquid or grease).

The possibility of adjusting the shape and size of the mounting plate, the position of the discharge flange and the length of the column allows you to find a solution for every customer need. The pumps can be equipped with a suction filter and an extension pipe, as well as PTFE or cartridge seals if the pump operates in high pressure or vapor environments. Available with four types of impellers – closed (RDV, RNV), semi-open (RGV), channel (RBV) and vortex (RCV).

Vertical pumps are used in all industrial applications: refineries, oil and gas extraction, the chemical, food, and paper industries, and everything related to water treatment. They are also used for emptying wells, for tanks with water mixed with oils, and for transferring liquids between different tanks.

  • Versatility – the ability to choose any impeller from the series of horizontal pumps, adjust the shape and size of the mounting plate, the position of the discharge flange and the length of the column.
  • Motor without contact with the pumped liquid – only the pump body is immersed in the liquid; the motor is mounted above the mounting plate, which separates it from the pumped medium.
  • Wide range of applications – refining and extraction industry, energy, chemical, paper, food, water treatment, dewatering of wells, tanks, transfer of liquids between tanks.
Operation principle

Operating principle of centrifugal pumps. The two main parts of a centrifugal pump are the impeller with blades (impeller) and the pump housing (casing). In the most common type – the centrifugal pump with a volute casing – the liquid enters the pump near the center of the high-speed rotating impeller. The liquid on the suction side moves along the axis of the impeller and due to the centrifugal force generated by the blades, it is thrown radially into the chamber in the casing. The casing gradually expands in a spiral manner towards the discharge nozzle, which reduces the velocity of the liquid and thus increases the pressure (diffuser effect). At the same time, as the liquid is thrown radially by the impeller due to centrifugal force, the pressure in the center of the impeller drops, enhancing the effect of drawing liquid into the pump, which enables a continuous liquid transfer process.

The impeller of a centrifugal pump is driven by a motor (most often electric) via a shaft. The pump head, along with the coupling and motor, constitutes the pump unit. In centrifugal pumps, gears are not used, and the rotational speed of the motor is transmitted directly. Most commonly, two- and four-pole motors are used (rotational speeds of approximately 2900 and 1450 rpm, respectively), and less frequently, six- and eight-pole motors are used (approximately 900 and 700 rpm).

A very important element of the pump is the seal at the point where the drive shaft enters the body. This seal is designed to prevent the pumped liquid from leaking out of the pump, maintain pressure inside the pump, and prevent air from entering the pump. Among the seals for centrifugal pumps, we can distinguish gland packing packings, single mechanical seals, and double mechanical seals. We also distinguish a special type of pump – sealless (hermetic) pumps.

Installation versions
Version A (lubrication by pumped liquid) Version B (lubrication from an external source of clean liquid) Version C (lubrication by liquid in the pump column)
The pumped liquid lubricates all plain bearings (lower and intermediate). Available in two versions:
– length <2 m – single bearing bush at the end of the shaft: the liquid may also contain solid particles, but they must not be abrasive to the bearing bush. – length >2 m – version with intermediate bearings: the liquid must be clean, as particles could clog the lubrication channels of the intermediate bushes.
An external source of clean liquid or lubricant lubricates all plain bearings (lower and intermediate). An excellent solution when the pumped liquid is contaminated, viscous, or contains suspended solids. This design allows for operation without liquid in the tank; the liquid supplied from the outside is pumped along with the main medium. Design intended for chemically aggressive, viscous liquids containing solid particles. The mechanical seal is located between the shaft and the body cover to allow the pump column to be flooded. Plain bearings (lower and intermediate) are lubricated by external liquid. Before starting, the column must be filled with lubricating liquid.
Types of rotors

Squirrel-cage rotor

Clean liquids or those containing a small percentage of suspended solids. Allows for low NPSH and high pumping efficiency.

Ducted fan

Non-aggressive wastewater or slightly contaminated liquids containing non-fibrous suspensions. Impeller with special geometry to obtain low NPSHr and large free passage.

Semi-open with adjustable grinding plate

Non-aggressive wastewater or slightly contaminated liquids containing non-fibrous suspensions. Can handle up to 15% gas content in the liquid.

Vortex rotor

Crystallizing suspensions, viscous liquids, high fiber content, wastewater. Thanks to the fully recessed impeller, free passage in the pump up to 180 mm. Most liquids flow through the pump without directly touching the impeller. Solid particle passage up to 90% of the outlet port diameter. This allows any liquid to be transported without clogging the pump.
