Savings and efficiency

Savings Maximization: 99% product extraction allows for significant reduction of product loss, leading to substantial cost savings over time. Our system is designed for rapid drum emptying at rates of up to 400 liters per minute, depending on liquid properties and discharge pressure, ensuring efficient use of every drop.

Time Efficiency: By automating the unloading process, our system not only saves product but also saves valuable operator time, allowing them to focus on other critical tasks. Once the pump is placed in the drum and activated, the pump will unload the contents independently, automatically stopping once the drum is empty. During this process, the operator can focus on other tasks, such as preparing the next drum by opening and securing the liner bag.

Operating principle

The system is mounted on a mobile frame with 4 wheels, which facilitates transport to the drum storage location. Once the device is positioned, pallets with drums can be easily delivered using a forklift or manual pallet truck. The HVS system’s support structure allows for easy pallet placement, enabling immediate process start without the need for precise positioning.

The next step is to lower the pump to the top of the drum to be unloaded. Once the pump is in place, it should be started by pressing the START button on the panel. In automatic mode, the pump will automatically lower and unload the drum until it reaches the bottom, at which point it will stop lowering and pumping. The pump can also be controlled manually by the operator after selecting manual mode.

The final stage of drum unloading is removing the lid from the empty drum. To facilitate and speed up this operation, the system provides compressed air between the lid and the drum.

Drum & containers

In today’s industrial sectors, the use of containers such as drums and IBCs has become very common. These versatile tanks are particularly useful when transporting viscous liquids, such as concentrates or syrups, typically housed in drums equipped with aseptic bag-in-box liners.

Straight-sided drums: among these containers, the 200-liter straight-sided steel drum stands out as the most common and readily available choice. You can opt for a single drum delivery, nestled on a compact pallet, or choose the convenience of 4 drums arranged on a single pallet for efficient handling.

Conical drums: in some industries, conical drums are gaining popularity. These containers offer exceptional space savings due to their ability to nest within each other when empty. This design not only optimizes storage efficiency but also ensures a clutter-free workspace, making them a practical choice for various applications, especially in high-volume production.

Drum solutions tailored to your needs: regardless of the drum type you choose, our HVS system can be professionally adapted. This equipment is specifically designed for drum unloading systems with viscous liquids. It features a special scraper lid (follower plate) motorered to extract every drop of product from the drum and bag. For straight-sided drums, we offer a lid equipped with a universal lip seal. This seal ensures thorough scraping, effortlessly conforming to any variations in drum shape, including damage, while offering a cost-effective solution.

For conical drums, our solution incorporates an inflatable seal, integrated with our pneumatic control system. This seal automatically adjusts its size, ensuring optimal scraping performance as it reaches the lower areas of the drum.

IBC, Goodpack, and Bag-in-Box® options: our HVS systems can also be configured to unload IBC containers, Goodpack intermodal containers, or Bag-in-Box® containers, providing a flexible solution for a wide range of transport and storage needs. Contact us, and we will be happy to offer a solution tailored to your requirements.

Control system

The entire system is controlled via an integrated control panel. The control system’s features make it easy to operate and maintain. On the panel, the operator can easily select whether the system operates in automatic or manual mode, and buttons are also available for pump positioning (RAISE or LOWER) and pump control (START or STOP). Pumping speed control and a button for supplying compressed air between the lid and the drum are also available. Each control panel includes a main system power switch (ON/OFF) and an emergency stop button (E-STOP).

Customizable panels

We produce our control panels in-house, offering flexibility in customizing each drum unloading system to specific needs. Our specialized automation motorering team is ready to fine-tune the control elements to match unique processes, all at the customer’s request.

Thanks to these capabilities, the HVS drum unloading system can be seamlessly integrated with other machines on the production line, such as filling machines. Our motorers will work closely with the client to ensure the harmonious operation of the HVS system with the entire production process, maximizing efficiency and productivity.
