| 4. Optimized casing and impeller design The shape of the pump chamber and impeller are the result of advanced multidimensional analysis and numerous performance tests. Both of these elements have been designed and optimized to ensure the highest energy efficiency of the pump. |
The two main parts of a centrifugal pump are the impeller with vanes and the pump casing. Liquid enters the pump through the suction port near the center of the rapidly rotating impeller. The liquid on the suction side moves along the impeller axis and, due to the centrifugal force generated by the vanes, is thrown radially outwards into a chamber in the casing. The casing gradually expands in a spiral towards the discharge nozzle, which reduces the liquid velocity and thus increases the pressure (diffuser effect). At the same time, as the liquid is thrown radially outwards by the impeller towards the discharge port due to centrifugal force, the pressure at the center of the impeller drops, enhancing the suction effect of the liquid into the pump, which enables a continuous liquid transfer process.

Open impeller CTX series pumps have an open impeller with a robust design, high efficiency and low Net Positive Suction Head required (NPSHr). CTX series pumps with an open impeller are both easy to clean and suitable for pumping liquids containing solids. |

Hygienic mechanical seal arrangement |
|
| Single mechanical seal
The mechanical seal spring is not in contact with the pumped liquid, making the internal pump chamber fully washable. |
![]() |
| Double mechanical seal
Used when the liquid and its vapors pose a hazard to the operator or the environment and must be contained, when aggressive media are used at high pressures or temperatures, and for many polymerizing and crystallizing media. |

| Self-Priming Centrifugal Pumps | CTX S series
Thanks to the self-priming capability, the CTX-S series pump can be used in situations where it is necessary to lift liquid from a level below the pump. Since the standard CTX pump is not able to create a vacuum, with a simple modification it is possible to enable the pump to lift liquid from a height of up to 5 m. After the initial priming, the return pipe will recirculate liquid from the discharge side of the pump to ensure the liquid ring is maintained inside the pump. The self-priming option is easy to adapt to existing pumps by replacing the front cover and adding a vent screw. |

| Hygienic High-Performance Centrifugal Pumps | CTX H series
Designed for hygienic applications, including in the food, dairy, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Equipped with hygienic connections compliant with DIN 11851 as standard and mechanical seals and elastomers with FDA and EC 1935 approval. Wetted parts are electro-polished to Ra <0.8 μm as standard (Ra <0.5 μm on request) and external surfaces are glass-bead blasted to Ra <3.2 μm. Want to know more? | Adjustable feet
This solution allows for easy cleaning of the surface under the pump. It can also be useful if the pump needs to be moved to a different location. |

| Mounting brackets
The pump unit can be mounted on a base, which can be permanently fixed to the foundation. |

| Built-in frequency converter
The simplest and most flexible way to change the pump’s operating parameters. The inverter also provides overload protection and acts as a soft starter. |

| Inducer
The inducer increases the inlet pressure, thus lowering the pump’s NPSHr. This option is very easy to install even on existing pumps – to install it, simply screw the inducer onto the impeller. |
